BIG weekend for everyone...Lauren and Richard headed to Colorado on Friday for Lauren's Senior Trip, Ryan got to dress out with the HOGS for the first time, and Erin participated in All State Choir in Hot Springs. What an honor for a sophomore. It's one of her favorite things, and it was fun for Sheridan and I to make the trip on Saturday for the awesome concert.

As a treat, we got to see Mekelle. Her daughter is a senior and last year she and Ryan were in the choir together. This was our second annual meeting at Hot Springs in the convention center to listen to a high school choir! Seeing Mekelle makes me think sweet thoughts of playing barbies, riding bikes and spending the nights at her house as a child. Sheridan wanted a picture too, she is "Sheridan Mekelle". I wouldn't have it any other way.

Valentine's Day 2013

I love making Valentine's day boxes...and we've made some fun ones over the years! I'm afraid that 4th grade may be the LAST YEAR for VDay parties! (so sad) This is a pizza box with heart shaped pepperoni/conversation hearts. She loved getting CRUSHes from her friends...and one from big sis Lauren too.  This is exactly how Valentine's Day should be...fun and chocolate-y.

Valentine's Day

I love my husband and he loves me. I'm so thankful he shows me every day of the year instead of just one day a year. I have a special box with all the cards and letters he's given me over the years. He's pretty good with words...ahhh.

This year our girls surprised us with a creative homemade Valentine! It was so cute and seriously highly impressive. I'm so thankful for these kids...and not just because it involved CHOCOLATE!

It's sale season and I had 3 pick ups scheduled for Thursday afternoon in Russellville. After school Richard and I picked up Sheridan and took her with us.We had no specific plans but ended up eating at a nice restaurant (before the crowds) and capping off the evening at the frozen yogurt bar...one of our favorites!

SUPER SOPHOMORE

Erin is simply having an awesome Sophomore year! She's the CHS swim team captain, she made All-Region choir and All-State choir and was named a Sophomore Homecoming maid! It was a fast 5 weeks to find the perfect white dress, make plans for fancy hair and make up for the first time, and work in all the other activities she's involved in as well! It was a perfect day full of laughter, fun and pictures. One of the great things about Erin is that she is friends with kids in lots of different groups in school. She has her classmates, her swim team, her choir friends, her fellow thespians, her church friends and the other academic leaders in her class. It was very pleasing for me to watch so many different kids cheer her on at homecoming. One friend sent such a sweet text the morning of that said something about her shining her light and being so glad to be able to cheer for her. She signed it, #TeamErin. That's the kinds of friends everyone wants. I pray all my kids can attract that kind of friend and be that kind of friend too.

Grandma and Grandpa got to come for the evening ballgame and Ryan even dropped in after baseball practice. I was thrilled to see my kids all together supporting one another. It was a great day for our family.

Fun on the Hill

 

Ryan knows his Razorback history and when you have a football stadium named after you, it's OK to ask for a picture in the parking lot after a big win!

 

 

Mimi and Gramps took the cousins to see Ryan at a scrimmage in Baum Stadium. Evidentally, they walked right over to the Bull Pen! It's easy to see by the smile, that's he's loving life!

Ty

We had the blessing of taking care of our buddy Ty overnight and my heart is full from loving on a little one such as he. I so admire his mom and dad for choosing a child who looks different than they do and loving him to distraction. I enjoyed spelling words with him last night, watching him wrestle the girls, snuggling with him early this morning when we were the only ones up, and holding his hand in church. He's a special boy with a very special place in my heart. Today I'm ready to call two more my own.
