SUMMER HIGHLIGHTS

Although we've stayed close to home, we've keep fairly busy and made some great memories. Our favorites.

Missing Erin

Erin got to come home the entire week before Lauren's wedding, but she's back to Falls Creek, working Monday - Friday and hanging out with friends during the weekend.

Recovery Week

It feels like we should be recovering from our build up to the wedding, I wanted to sleep in at least Saturday morning. And on Monday, I was super tired. Richard was out of town from Sunday - Wednesday so we just tried to stay cool and keep busy enough to not drive each other crazy. I have a huge personal goal to not have the tv on until at least after 4pm, so even if everyone asks...I usually say no. The kids all have Bible studies workbooks. Two of them do them with me, and some we throw some math in too.

This week has had it's own adventures:

- Tuesday: Jordan had a friend over for the night.
- I taught Cameron to play Guess Who, my favorite kids game.
- Jordan thought she had a splinter...from a pineapple.
- I let the girls make a main dish and a dessert from internet directions. - Wednesday: Sheridan had a friend over from Clarksville for the night.

- Apparently someone ran over my computer cord with the vacuum. :(
- Thursday: Sheridan spent the night with a friend that is moving out of state at the end of the month.
-Richard offered to clean out the fridge and apparently you shouldn't put large quantities of rice (or noodles) in the sink. Precious husband, saving me from this job...spent hours trying to get it unclogged and still had to call the guy with the BIG SNAKE to quickly clear that clog.- I was helping move something off our trailer and stepped off crazy with my right foot, hit the ground with my left knee and suffered from yet another episode of extreme vertigo for a few minutes in the extreme heat.
- On the Hill: I had to request a paint change in the house...too blue for me in two small rooms.
- On the Hill: the kitchen island has been delivered, the tiles are being put up in the master shower, and the flooring has been delivered.

- Worship Night was awesome on Wednesday, and I wish it was every night!
- I ordered all my RL products for my next event and put WEST on my billboard and yard signs instead of EAST in my directions. :(

- Richard upgraded my phone...and I dropped it before I had a protective box on it. :(

Quick Trip

It's not like we haven't been busy this summer, but we haven't taken any kind of trip or even day trip! It's good to get out of town every once in a while and have some fun. We decided to load the littles up on Sunday afternoon and hit Silver Dollar City over Memorial weekend. It was a perfect evening and morning at the park as we rode all the rides we wanted to, ate kettle korn, succotash, and listened to some good ole Southern Gospel.

New Friends

Thankful for these three kiddos and their family! In one week we met them at basketball camp, then Camp Caudle, and then played basketball together! Our kids were meant to be friends! This week we had them over to swim, and Saturday Richard took all the kids on a hike. I couldn't be more thankful for sweet families and kind children for our kids to play with!

Best Weekend Yet

We've had some fun summer weekends! But last weekend was the BEST one so far! Lauren and Erin came home, we celebrated for July 4th, we ate some super delicious meals, and Mimi and Gramps came to visit! The sun was out, our family sat together at church, we picked peaches and it was as it should be. Missing Ryan and Katelyn, but talked to them both... We're best when we're together: FAMILY.

Summer Moments

The summer is moving pretty quickly and we've had lots to do. We've been watching the red birds eat from Jordan's birdfeeder, swimming in our pool, going on hikes, and making new friends. 

This summer: new friends and old friends.

RL Conference

I didn't tell anyone I was going on a cruise, it sounded frivolous to even me. We moved Monday, the second truck arrived Tuesday. Monday night I had my first VBS meeting. Richard was out of town Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday I flew to Ft Lauderdale at 6:30am. We loaded the Majesty of the Seas in Miami on Friday.

I love getting together with other RL owners, they are fun, smart and challenge me to think outside the box. Our sale won two awards for sell through. This means out of 74 sales we were second place in the Spring, and FIRST place in the Fall. It doesn't matter that I don't have the biggest sale, we sell what we have. I'm super thankful to represent the River Valley and all the great folks who help me host our event.

I brought back a sunburn as my souvenir and as a super treat when I got home...Richard secured a GREAT location for our next event!

Blessed

I'm completely thankful for the last 7 days in Russellville and the friends who have reached out to us. The day before we moved one of Jordan's friends from church told us about a local day camp that is for kids 1st-5th grade. We looked it up, realized lots of our friends were going to be there, and signed Cam and Jordan up! 

But before the camp began...Jordan and Sheridan went to a free basketball camp put on by the high school. Jordan made a new friend and won the 2 on 2 basketball tournament. Sheridan made new friends and won her 2 on 2 championship! 

Richard recognized Jordan's friends' parents at the basketball camp and they exchanged phone numbers. She's already been asked to play in a ball tournament this next weekend in Conway. 

Meanwhile, Sheridan invited over her new soccer and basketball friend and was asked to practice two times a week with a couple girls to keep up her skills. She also spent the night with another friend from church.

Monday morning Cam and Jordan were all smiles headed to Camp Caudle. All week they've played in a mud pit, learned archery, had Bible study, enjoyed a slip and slide, fished, had snacks and lunch together, learned a new song and dance, and made crafts! They've met new friends, and enjoyed being outside and busy. One of my friends working the camp (and sending me pics of my kids) asked if Sheridan wanted to help her and go Thursday and Friday. She got to go and see what it was all about and see Cameron and Jordan in action!

One week...new friends and a great start to SUMMER!
