Last Concert

12 band concerts, 6 all region try outs, 3 all region concerts, 2 weeks at band camp, survived 4 weeks of summer band, lots and lots of scales, several marching contests, 6 Christmas parades, one borrowed super trumpet...THE BAND EXPERIENCE.

Mother's Day

Pretty relaxed day...started the morning off with Graduate Sunday at church. Lauren stood with our college and high school graduates in both services and got to tell where she was going to school next year. Our families were also treated to a nice breakfast in their honor. We had a nice lunch at home and then headed to Conway for dinner with RL's family and Mimi. Erin presented Mimi with a booklet from a school project she did on her life, Sheridan rode the huge swing, Ben showed us his senior boots, and Gramps told us a few stories! Leah and Ben had just arrived home from their colleges, so our kids had a lot to visit about! I got a text from three friends at the HOGS game in Fayetteville that had seen and hugged Ryan. I'm so thankful we have friends all over the place that can love on my kids! It was a beautiful day!

Mother's Day at the Ballpark

 

 

BEAUTIFUL weekend at Baum Stadium in the last home series of the year. Richard went on Friday night and the whole family went on Saturday. It's fun for us to know someone on the field and it's always fun when the HOGS win! After the game the team huddles on the field and then the players can come talk to their families and hug their girlfriends. Erin and Sheridan were down on the wall and apparently there were TV cameras filming the winning pitcher who was standing beside Ryan. We started getting texts that they were on TV as we were leaving the park. It's so fun to live in Arkansas!

Senior Night

 

Yesterday was a rainy day. It matched our mood. We planned a special night full of family and friends for senior night on the soccer field but when it's your last game ever, it's kind of bittersweet. Ryan and Katelyn came from Fayetteville though he had text Lauren all day and pretended he didn't know about her game at all. Grandma and Grandpa Boogaart were able to come and see the game and then treated us all to dinner! We took a canopy tent to the stadium and set it up in the bleachers just in case the rain didn't hold off during the game. Seven seniors started the game. Lauren's best friends played the entire game right beside her. Did we win? No. Did it matter in the scheme of things? No. Today ended a great run of fun and athletics for Lauren.

 

Running Hard

Sheridan placed about 15th in the 3rd grade girls 800 meter event last week. I was so proud of her not stopping to walk once during the event! It was hot outside and she worked hard! Here she is following her friend, Lydia, as we got to cheer her on near the finish line!
