Summer Highlights

We make a lot of lists in this house. To do lists, what to pack, and our favorites. I don't like it when kids go back to school in August and when asked what they did they say, "Nothing." So, we started making a summer highlights list a few summers ago. We haven't been on a vacation in a couple years, but we still stay busy. I was thankful moving and new friends hit Sheridan's list.

The most fun thing was that ALL 3 kids put Ryan and Kate's wedding on their list and we made the lists BEFORE the wedding. No pressure for the newest Rogers, but of course, it was as fun as they thought it would be.

Gratefulness is the enemy of grumbliness...may we always look for the good.

Rocks, Trees and Dreams

This little piece of land, on a pretty little street, is almost ours. Richard has been all over this city and even outside the city to find us the right piece of property to build on. It's been all summer, but we're really close to signing papers on this and we've met with an architect who is drawing our plans this weekend. I'd like to be pretty excited about it, but I'm trying to hold back my expectations just in case it's more work than fun. 

I'm also getting pretty spoiled at the location of our rent house now. We're one block from Main Street and less than 3 minutes from church. We live right behind a Wal Mart and yet, have trees and birds on our back porch. Also, we're within walking distance from all the kids' schools. 

God has a plan, and Richard is leading us now.

First Day of School ~ 2015

So, I took 3 kids to new schools today. We left early for the 5 minute drive, and it only took me 20 minutes to drop everyone off. Of course, we may have been a little early, as the traffic was past our drive to drop off kids when I got home. The kids were anxious to start, but looking forward to seeing the kids they already knew from church and ball. So thankful for such a smooth transition.
