Flying High in Frisco

Last day of Spring Break had to be a good one! We thought we were headed to Six Flags, and drove by the roller coasters and talked about it Every. Single. Day... but the wind was high and the park wasn't opening until late and Dad had a back up plan! He and the kids suited up and went flying instead!  The wind tunnel is high and the air is blowing about 65-70 mph. They loved it! Ryan and Katelyn met us there and we went to lunch and did a little shopping before getting on the road for home. 

Spring Break in the City

GREAT memories at Mission Arlington, seeing lots of folks from our past visits and helping get ready for their HUGE Easter Egg hunt. They thought they would have 5000 kids and hoped to have 100,000 eggs stuffed to give out. We wrapped Easter baskets, stuffed eggs, set up a display for a give away and had a great time! Today I can imagine all those children having such a fun time finding eggs and their families hearing the Easter story from the folks during the celebration. 

Tuesday was Richard's birthday and our big plan was to have whatever kind of ICE CREAM he wanted! It's his favorite thing and we were ALL IN! We found a great froyo place and all enjoyed celebrating our great dad! We had lunch at Babe's Chicken House and dinner on Tuesday at Fuzzy Taco Shop. 

We spent the next day visiting the Forth Worth Zoo and playing at a huge arcade and go cart track. It was beautiful outside and we had a good time as a family sight seeing the sky scrapers, the crazy traffic and doing things outside our norm. Richard had booked us room in a motel with an indoor swimming pool, so most evenings the kids swam. It was a great week!

We have some history at a place called Mission Arlington and this week we'll head back to serve there for two days. Lauren is heading to TX with the 5 of us to do whatever needs doing. It will be Jordan and Cameron's first trip to Texas. We've never had one year look like another: we've delivered furniture, stuffed and unstuffed Easter eggs, sorted clothing, played with children, cleaned apartments, picked up trash and cleaned up playgrounds. It's physical work that is spiritual in nature. I'm looking forward to being OUT of my comfort zone and into His presence.

Pack Shack!

It's always fun when Ryan and Katelyn surprise us! They dropped in on Saturday and went to the Pack Shack with the family! This is one of our new favorite things to do with the Arkansas Dream Center. This is the second time for us to help pack 12,000 meals in just under an hour. The food is distributed to families in need during spring break! Lots of fun music, fun people and doing something GOOD! 

House on the Hill

While I was at my event the walls started coming up on our new house! It's been sunny for the last 5 days and not only are the walls up now, but the trusses are being sorted to put on the house right now! It's really coming together and now that I've got the event out of the way I'm looking forward to thinking about decorating and making our home a wonderful place for our family and our friends.

Springing into Spring

Seriously, best location, most items in a spring event and the highest sell through we've had with this many items ever! My family pitched in, as usual, and helped make rough places smooth. Richard had the littles at home and Mimi and Gramps helped with them a couple days too.

It was supposed to rain all week, but we only had a few times the rain was coming down hard. Even then, customers came in! We had leaks in the building, even then, folks kept shopping. It was a great week!

I'm so thankful for the way God provides for us in this business, to make a difference in the community and get to love on so many families in our area. I didn't take many pictures of this event, it was a whirlwind 11 days and we came out smiling!
